4019 Melissa & Doug Bake & Decorate Wooden Cupcake Set

R 479.00

Be sure your little baker uses the oven mitt to remove these 4 delectable-looking wooden cupcakes from their cupcake baking tray. This special set has 3 dry-erase markers shaped like icing tubes to decorate the smooth, removable, wipe-off cupcake tops. With colorful baking cupcake sleeves and decorative wooden candles, these low-cal cupcakes will be the hit of birthday and tea parties! PERFECT FOR LEARNING: Through make-believe play, children learn to understand the world around them, build vocabulary, and develop important social skills as they repeat the actions and rituals of the adults around them. This innovative play set lets kids re-enact an everyday activity--preparing food in the kitchen--in a best-of-the-everyday context: a birthday party! The multi-step activity works toward a specific goal (completing a decorated cupcake), which keeps kids engrossed and enhances focus. Lots of options along the way (Which topping where? What should I draw?) encourage creativity and problem solving too. And fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination get a workout as children place each cupcake in its sleeve, place the toppers and candles, color with the pens, and lift the cupcakes out of the pan.

More Ways to Play and Learn:

  1. Ask the child to make the cupcakes to order. For example, you might request one chocolate cupcake with pink icing and green polka dots.
  2. Ask the child to tell a story about the cupcakes he/she is baking. Are they for a special party, holiday, or event?
  3. Ask the child to study the candles then close his/her eyes. Remove and conceal one candle. Ask the child to describe the missing candle. Repeat by concealing two candles, then three.
  4. Place four decorated cupcakes in front of the child. Ask the child to study them then close his/her eyes. Remove and conceal one cupcake. Ask the child to describe the missing cupcake.
  5. Pretend to have a birthday party. Ask the child to decorate the cupcakes and place them into the cupcake tray. Ask the child to sing "Happy Birthday," then "blow out" the candles.
